Abby Clark, an associate in the firm's Kansas City office, is a member of the Employment and Employee Benefits practice. During law school, Abby served as an investigative assistant for the U.S. Department of Labor: Employee Benefits Security Administration. She also interned with the U.S. Department of Labor: Kansas City Regional Solicitor's Office. Abby has experience with a variety of regulatory compliance issues involving qualified pension and profit sharing plans, including the Internal Revenue Service's Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS). Firm clients sponsor a variety of retirement plans, including 401(k) plans, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and defined benefit pension plans. Abby helps them with plan restatements, amendments, determination letter applications, and other compliance matters. Abby also contributes to the firm's Benefits Notes blog, which provides analysis on hot topics relating to health care reform, retirement plan design and executive compensation.
