Chris Perkowski represents financial institutions, community development entities (CDEs), nonprofits, and developers in using federal and state incentives to structure and negotiate high-impact investments benefitting underserved communities and populations nationwide. He focuses his practice on New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) transactions, helping investors, lenders (including CDEs, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and traditional lenders) and project borrowers to efficiently navigate complex structures and program requirements throughout the NMTC compliance period. He also assists his CDE clients with regulatory aspects of the NMTC program and resolving compliance issues.
In addition to tax credit transactions, Chris works with CDFIs and other community development lenders in closing secured and unsecured loans to impactful projectsproviding services such as health care and access to healthy foods.
Prior to joining Stinson Leonard Street LLP, Chris was a partner at Nixon Peabody LLP and co-leader of its New Markets Tax Credit team.
