Colin Turner is a registered patent attorney with a practice that focuses on all aspects of intellectual property counseling with an emphasis on intellectual property litigation, patent preparation and prosecution and trademark prosecution and enforcement.
As a litigator, Colin has hands-on experience in the representation of clients in both patent infringement suits and Inter Partes Review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He also has experience representing clients in trademark, trade dress, and copyright litigation. Colin began his legal career as a full-time litigator and has significant experience handling all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts. Prior to joining Stinson, his practice focused heavily on the defense of both corporate and individual clients in the areas of professional liability, products liability, insurance coverage, premises liability and personal injury. He draws upon this experience in his representation of clients in intellectual property disputes.
As a patent prosecution attorney, Colin prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications in a variety of technology areas, and his background in chemical engineering makes him well-suited for working with inventors in the fields of industrial scale chemical and oil manufacturing processes. He also prepares freedom to operate opinions and patentability assessments.
As a trademark attorney, Colin prosecutes U.S. trademark applications, provides freedom to operate opinions, assists clients with cease and desist letter campaigns, and files UDRP actions.
