Stinson Leonard Street attorney Zane Gilmer will present "CFPB: What to Expect in 2017" at a Feb. 23, 2017 meeting of the Colorado Bankers Association.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) had a roller coaster year in 2016. It made headlines with significant enforcement actions, controversial rule proposals and a significant court loss that held the bureau's structure unconstitutional.
Zane will discuss what we can likely expect from the CFPB in 2017. Some of the topics covered will include an overview of the CFPB's significant enforcement actions from 2016 and how those may provide guidance for future enforcement actions, likely rule-making in 2017 and how the Republicans and Trump administration may impact the CFPB going forward.
Zane is a partner in the firm's Denver office. He focuses his practice on business litigation, class action defense, and regulatory compliance. He represents clients in state and federal courts and arbitration forums across the country. Gilmer is also a regular author and presenter on emerging litigation of compliance issues and he is member of the firm's emerging trends subgroup and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau taskforce.
