Allison Murdock, the firm's deputy managing partner, was interviewed by the KC Counselor magazine as part of a story on women leaders in Kansas City area law firms.
The magazine interviewed several women leaders at law firms and asked them the skills they used to be successful in their positions, how they dealt with discrimination, the path they took to leadership and what law firms can do to develop the next generation of women leaders.
Allison shared that her time spent serving on the firm committees and the board of directors spurred her interest in pursuing a leadership position.
"I started to see how a law firm works when I was on the [Board]. I developed a better understanding of what we do and why we do it and I learned how partners are evaluated and compensated," she said.
The story "Leading the Way" appeared in the February 2017 issue of the magazine.
