Jeff Mason practices in Stinson Leonard Street’s Financial Services and Class Action Litigation group. Focusing primarily in the insurance and financial services industries, Jeff has built a track record of successfully representing corporations and individuals in putative class action and other material litigation and arbitrations throughout the country, as well as in civil, criminal and regulatory investigations and proceedings involving the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and various state regulators and attorneys general. Jeff also has significant experience representing clients in matters involving consumer protection, corporate governance, general business and commercial law, and internal investigations.
Jeff joined Stinson Leonard Street LLP after working in the Washington, D.C., office of a major international law firm, where he represented financial institutions and public corporations in investigations by various federal, state and foreign authorities, primarily relating to collateralized debt obligations, credit default swaps, asset backed securities and mortgage loan origination and securitization.
Jeff served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Diana E. Murphy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and as a judicial intern to the Honorable Keith Starrett of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Jeff also dedicates significant time and energy to pro bono legal representations, including criminal defense under the Criminal Justice Act, immigration matters, and nonprofit governance.
