Jeremy Root is a proven advocate with broad experience in litigation and investigations. He currently spends the majority of his time representing clients involved in complex commercial disputes, securities litigation, and internal compliance investigations. As part of his work with our firm's Financial Services and Class Action Division, he has defended nationwide class actions, including Rule 23 appeals of class certification decisions. As a member of our firm's Government Solutions practice group, he has been involved in initiative petition and election law litigation, including both pre-election and post-election challenges in Missouri's courts. As a member of our firm's FCPA and Anti-Corruption Counseling and Defense group, he has investigated employment, compliance, and fraud issues in the United States, as well as in Sub-Saharan Africa and Australia. He has been involved in a wide range of traditional litigation matters and has knowledge litigating contract disputes, prevailing wage disputes, commercial fraud cases, and professional licensing cases. Jeremy also has experience in appellate practice before Missouri’s state courts, including both traditional appeals and appellate writ procedure. He also focuses on needs of clients in preparing for and conducting electronic discovery, electronic compliance and electronic document management.
