University Stinson Leonard combines practice-oriented training with a focus on practical skills and career development. For associates, the curriculum supports both the transition to practice and the basic lawyering skills within the associate's practice area, with customized learning tracks throughout the associate's path to partnership. The firm supports every attorney in continued growth in experience and career development. University Stinson Leonard offers specialized and advanced programs in substantive areas of the law, as the firm's practice division chairs, client needs and/or business climates indicate. Many of these programs will fulfill attorneys' obligations for continuing legal education.
The PACES (Performance, Assimilation, Communication, Excellence and Service) program assists new hires in skillfully navigating administrative channels, easily accessing our extensive resources, and clearly understanding the culture and structure of our firm. This program provides the training, resources and information needed by new employees to foster professional and personal success at Stinson Leonard Street. All new employees will be contacted periodically throughout their first year by a staff member who will provide insight and direction, facilitate additional training, and ensure you’re positioned for success.
Our firm has always been a preferred destination for judicial law clerks. A significant number of the attorneys who practice with us have prior experience as a judicial law clerk, either with state or federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. We view the judicial clerkship experience as invaluable training for attorneys, particularly for those who practice in litigation.
