Nate Van Emon works closely with financial institutions in transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, bank regulatory matters, commercial lending and general corporate law. Nate has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions. In 2012, Nate played a key role in numerous transactions as Stinson served as legal advisor on more bank and thrift mergers and acquisitions, and bank branch sales, than any other U.S. legal advisor, according to SNL Financial Partners.
He has advised more than a half dozen community bank holding companies on the issuance of more than $65 million in preferred securities to the Secretary of the Treasury under the Small Business Lending Fund. Nate has counseled several money service businesses, including players in the prepaid card/stored value space, in evaluating state money transmitter licensing requirements and exemptions and obtaining licenses. He also represents banks and borrowers in a variety of financing transactions.
Nate also serves on the firm's Associate Development and Mentoring Committee. During law school, he interned for the Honorable Scott Wright, United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and also was a teaching assistant in UMKC’s Legal Research and Writing Program.
