Nicole Faulkner is an Employment and Labor Law Associate in the firm's Minneapolis office where she advises employers of all sizes on issues involving the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), the Minnesota Human Rights Act (MHRA), employee handbooks, employment and separation agreements, and noncompetition agreements. Nicole's practice includes both litigation and counseling to help clients make prudent decisions moving forward. Nicole also represents colleges and universities on issues such as Title IX, FERPA, and harassment and sexual misconduct investigations.
While in law school, Nicole served as a research assistant to Professors Daniel Kleinberger and Ted Sampsell-Jones and worked as an employment law intern at the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Counsel office. She was a 2014 summer associate at Stinson Leonard Street.
Prior to joining Stinson Leonard Street, Nicole was a Vice President at an integrated marketing company. There she led multiple divisions, and she was tasked with coordinating outside counsel to assist with internal matters such as contract negotiations, employment personnel issues, and management training. This experience gave Nicole an inside look at what corporate clients need and expect from their outside counsel. She excels at analyzing problems with both a legal and practical lens to help meet clients' "big picture" business objectives.
