Bob Thavis founded the firm’s Insurance Coverage practice group and has collected hundreds of millions of dollars in disputed insurance coverage for corporate insureds in all types of coverage disputes. Bob has experience in litigating disputes over defense and indemnity insurance coverage under a broad array of policy types, including with respect to underlying claims of securities and financial fraud, cyber liability, breach of fiduciary duty, competitive injury and other business torts, intellectual property, construction, environmental clean-up and products liability. Bob has also litigated substantial fidelity, property and business interruption claims, and has extensive appellate experience in both federal and state courts. He is a frequent author and lecturer, both regionally and nationally, on insurance coverage issues, has chaired the national meeting and a variety of national subcommittees and projects for the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation, and was elected as a founding fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Chair of its 2017 Annual Meeting. Bob has also repeatedly been named to "super lawyer" and other state and national top lawyer rankings.
