Steven Katras has been practicing law for more than a dozen years. Prior to joining Stinson Leonard Street LLP, Steve was the career federal law clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Janie S. Mayeron, serving as a chief advisor on an array of civil and criminal matters dealing with both federal and state laws. His work behind the bench included a variety of harassment, discrimination and reprisal claims under Title VII and the Minnesota Human Rights Act, as well as ADEA, FMLA and ADA claims.
Prior to working for the federal court, Steve worked as a litigation associate with Rider Bennett LLP in Minneapolis. His private practice experience includes defending corporations and other entities in commercial litigation, product liability and employment law. Steve successfully argued complex dispositive and non-dispositive motions before state and federal courts.
At Stinson Leonard Street, Steve focuses on labor and employment matters. He counsels clients on issues related to hiring, discipline, discrimination, non-compete and whistleblower claims. As a litigator, he represents clients before state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies.
