Hart-Scott-Rodino Attorney Bill Kearney Joins Stinson in DC
Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome William (Bill) Kearney Jr. to the firm. Kearney joins the firm's Washington, DC office as of counsel in the Corporate Finance Practice Division.
Kearney brings over two decades of experience serving clients domestically and internationally, specializing in pre-merger notification compliance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. He has extensive experience handling matters involving Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission antitrust investigations concerning corporate mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures in various industries, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, software and telecommunications.
"Bill has an impressive background in transactional antitrust matters, specifically pre-merger clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Acts. He is a great addition to our national M&A practice," Stinson's Corporate Finance Practice Division Chair Jack Bowling said.
Kearney regularly represents multi-national corporations, private equity, venture capital and hedge funds, and investment advisors in financial and strategic acquisitions of all types. He has experience as a litigation and enforcement counsel handling antitrust matters and served on an international legal team representing an integrated research site organization handling clinical trials in an acquisition that created the world's largest dedicated research site organization. Additionally, Kearney represented a global medical solutions company in its acquisition of a medical device company, securing access to innovative technology that enhances advanced wound management and patient outcomes.
Prior to joining Stinson, Kearney was a member of antitrust practice groups at global law firms with offices in DC.
Kearney received his J.D. from the William & Mary Law School and his B.A. from the College of William & Mary. He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and the U.S. Court of Appeals District of Columbia Circuit.
