Hatfield Named to Appellate Attorney POWER List, Recognized for Work in Missouri Politics
Stinson LLP Partner Chuck Hatfield has been named to the 2023 Missouri Lawyers Media Appellate Attorney POWER List, a regular feature from the publication that recognizes members of Missouri's legal community who lead and influence the law.
Hatfield, who leads the firm's Government Solutions and Financial Services and Class Action Litigation practice groups, has been named to the Appellate Attorney POWER list since its inception in 2021.
With over 25 years' experience litigating and negotiating high-profile cases primarily involving government action and relations, Hatfield is considered to be one of the most preeminent government relations litigators in Missouri. A 2022 Missouri Lawyers Media "Lawyer of the Year" honoree, Hatfield is influential in shaping how proposed laws and constitutional amendments are presented to the public. He has handled more than 20 major cases before the Missouri Supreme Court, represented clients in Missouri's initiative process, writing proposed changes to Missouri law and litigating initiative petition, and regularly appears before trial and appellate courts at both state and federal levels.
In addition to the 2023 Appellate Attorney POWER List recognition, Hatfield, who serves as the firm's Jefferson City office managing partner, earned the firm a Missouri's Top 20 Law Firms 2022 recognition. The publication recognized the firm as the "Firm with the Biggest Effect on Missouri Politics," saying, "Stinson's small but mighty Jefferson City office has an outsize effect on politically salient legal matters. Led by Chuck Hatfield, the eight-attorney office has handled cases ranging from election law to gerrymandering."
