International Trade Commission Makes Affirmative Finding of Material Injury in Support of Stinson client Bedford Industries, Inc.
The International Trade Commission on March 23, 2021 issued a final affirmative injury decision in favor of Stinson client Bedford Industries, Inc., the leading domestic manufacturer of twist ties used in agricultural, manufacturing, face mask and other industries. By a vote of 3-2, the commissioners agreed that imports of twist ties from China are materially injuring the domestic industry that manufactures twist ties. The U.S. Commerce Department previously issued its final determinations that the imported ties are being sold at subsidized and unfairly dumped prices. As a result of the ITC decision yesterday Customs will require that imported twist ties be subject to significant import duties.
Stinson Partner Roy Goldberg and attorney Denyse Zosa represented Bedford Industries in this case.
