Morgan Johnson Voted Chair of BAMSL Patent, Trademark & Copyright Section

Stinson LLP Partner Morgan Johnson has been selected to serve as Chair of the Patent, Trademark & Copyright (PTC) Section for the 2023-24 Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) Bar Season.

As chair of the PTC Section, Johnson will coordinate continuing legal education programs for patent, trademark, and copyright practitioners and continue the work of past chairs to advance intellectual property (IP) in the St. Louis area. Johnson will also serve as a voting member of the BAMSL Board of Governors.

"Beginning in my very first year as an IP attorney, I experienced the benefits from the connections and knowledge that the PTC Section provided," Johnson said. "I have enjoyed my time participating in the PTC Steering Committee over the years, and look forward to leading the section in the coming year." 

Johnson's term commences on May 1, 2023 and runs through April 30, 2024.

BAMSL is an organization dedicated to empowering attorneys and other legal professionals in the metropolitan St. Louis region to be their best selves through community service, social networking and education. The BAMSL PTC Section offers programs and opportunities for intellectual property practitioners to stay abreast of new developments in the practice of patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights.

Johnson advises his clients on how best to protect and commercialize their intellectual property rights and avoid infringing the rights of others. He focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution, leveraging his chemical engineering background to secure patent protection for clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. His experience protecting intellectual property rights enables him to provide valuable insights during M&A due diligence with respect to intellectual property ownership and agreements.
