Chatham Talks H-1B Visa Program with ABC15 Arizona News
Stinson LLP Partner Elizabeth S. Chatham is featured in an ABC15 Arizona news story, "Explaining what an H-1BVisa is amid feud."
Chatham shares insights on the H-1B Visa program and the various guardrails in place to protect American jobs. She highlights specific program requirements, such as the necessity for the degree held by the H-1BVisa holder to directly relate to the job, and lottery process is limited to a total of 85,000 H-1B visas each year. Chatham also notes that if multiple employers are filing for the same foreign national, then that foreign national will have to select one job or be forced to explain the multiple job offers so that lottery is only counted once against the selected beneficiary.
The H-1B Visa program is designed for individuals worldwide with bachelor's degrees or higher in high-demand fields. In Arizona, the leading sectors include technology, education, financial services and health care.
