Press Release
07.03.2024

Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome Scott D. Claassen back to the firm in its Kansas City office. Claassen rejoins the firm as an of counsel attorney in the firm's Corporate Finance Practice Division, returning after four years as general counsel for a NASDAQ-listed global financial transaction services corporation.

"Scott's return is a significant addition to our corporate finance practice. His track record handling complex deals, combined with his invaluable perspective having served as the chief legal officer of a public company, will be a great benefit to our clients," Stinson's Corporate Finance Practice Division Chair Jack Bowling said.

Claassen's practice focuses on representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities law compliance. He has experience advising public and private companies in a wide range of transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and public and private offerings of equity and debt securities.

In his previous in-house general counsel role, Claassen implemented corporate governance policies, advised on complex regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions and negotiated major commercial agreements in Asia, Europe and the United States, playing a vital role in the corporation's global acquisitions and financing activities.

Claassen rejoins one of the strongest corporate finance benches in the Midwest, with attorneys providing a range of services to many of the world's leading companies and investment firms across a variety of jurisdictions in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
