Stinson LLP attorney April Petrosino authored a column for the Association of Legal Administrator's Legal Management magazine, "How Mentors Can Help Associates Navigate the Waters."

Petrosino emphasizes the importance of mentorship for early-career associates as they navigate the realities of practicing law. She explores the benefits of different types of mentoring, including formal vs. informal, cross-office vs. intra-office, and partner vs. senior associate, and how each can help associates navigate working relationships as they start their career. She also emphasizes that mentoring relationships benefit not only early-career associates, but experienced associates and partners as well.

"Ultimately, mentorship is a dynamic process," Petrosino writes. "Mentorship serves a more important purpose than merely securing a top client or climbing the corporate ladder: It allows for professional and personal growth for both parties, expanding their worldview in and out of the practice of law."

Petrosino is an associate in Stinson's Labor, Employment & Benefits Practice Division. She provides legal assistance to entities of all sizes, helping to guide them through labor and employment matters and representing their interests in appellate proceedings.
