Stinson Adds Patent Law Partner Robert Reeser to its St. Louis Office
Stinson LLP is pleased to welcome Robert Reeser as a partner in its Intellectual Property & Technology Division. Based in the firm’s St. Louis office, Reeser focuses his practice on working with emerging and established innovators to turn technology into protected opportunities by identifying and pursuing untapped market space.
"I am excited to join the Stinson LLP team and contribute to the firm’s talented and creative Intellectual Property & Technology Group," Reeser said.
Reeser is a registered practitioner before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has significant experience preparing patent applications across diverse industries, particularly in areas related to motors, aircraft engines, automotive technologies, gaming devices, and electromechanical systems. He also advises clients on sustainability strategy and emerging energy technologies, including electric vehicles, solar power, and wind energy, focusing on due diligence, legislative trends, and incentives tied to clean energy projects.
Reeser has provided strategic guidance on patentability, infringement risks, and IP due diligence, helping clients navigate the intersection of innovation and evolving patent law. He also brings a wealth of experience drafting responses to PTO office actions and appeal briefs, addressing evidentiary issues in copyright cases, and handling trademark oppositions, interrogatories, and prosecution-related disputes.
"As we continue to grow our team in the St. Louis area and broader Missouri market, we are pleased to welcome Robert to the firm and know he will be an asset to our clients and our intellectual property practice," said Michael Kaplan, managing partner of the St. Louis office.
Before joining Stinson, Reeser was a partner at a St. Louis law firm where he focused on intellectual property and technology matters. He also served as a training and safety coordinator and worked as a mechanical engineer at Illinois Power Co. Reeser served for five years in the U.S. Air Force, where he was selected from among 2,500 officers as the 1990 Military Airlift Command Officer of the Year.
Reeser holds a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law, an M.A. from Webster University, and a B.S. from Parks College, Saint Louis University. He is admitted to practice law in Missouri.
