Stinson Recognized by Leadership Council for Legal Diversity as a Top Performer and Compass Award Winner
Stinson LLP has been named a Top Performer and Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), recognizing law firms and corporations that show a strong commitment to building more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession. The firm is one of 43 firms and corporations to receive both recognitions this year.
The Top Performer award recognizes those organizations in the top 20 percent for participation in LCLD activities and programs and the Compass Award recognizes individuals and organizations who have involvement in programs facilitated by LCLD in a single calendar year, including the Annual Membership Meeting, Pipeline program and the Fellows and Pathfinder Programs.
Managing Partner Allison Murdock attends the LCLD Annual Meeting each year and was part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, which calls on law firm and corporate leaders to create personal action plans while using their collective voice for change and to advance diverse talent. Murdock created a Leader's Pledge that details her personal, and the firm's, commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion.
"Stinson and LCLD share a core value: we are committed to advancing greater equity and inclusion within our institutions and the legal profession at large," Murdock said. "LCLD has been an excellent resource for our diverse attorneys and for those of us who are leading law firms and corporate legal departments. It's an honor to be recognized as a 2021 Top Performer and to Compass Award recipient."
These recognitions build upon Stinson's commitment to diversity and inclusion. Most recently, and for the second year in a row, the firm achieved Mansfield Certification Plus status for 2021 and was awarded the Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, while also being recognized as one of the "Best Law Firms for Women" by Seramount (formerly Working Mother Media).
LCLD is one of the nation's leading organizations promoting diversity and consists of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have dedicated themselves to creating a truly diverse legal profession. The organization was founded to build a legal profession that looks like the nation it serves.
