Stinson's Eric Whytsell Starts Term as Chair of Public Contract Law Section

Stinson LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Eric Whytsell has been installed as Chair of the Public Contract Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA).

Whytsell has been involved with the Public Contract Law Section for nearly 15 years. He previously served as chair-elect, vice chair and secretary, in addition to serving as co-chair and vice chair of various Section committees.

"I look forward to continuing the good work of the Section and collaborating with its members and other Section leaders to improve public procurement and grant law at the local, state and federal levels," Whytsell commented. "It's a great privilege and an exciting opportunity to play a central role in promoting and educating others on the development of law relating to contracts and grants at all levels of government."  

The primary focuses of his term will include:

1. Increasing membership within the Public Contract Law Section.
2. Expanding opportunities for members to learn from and teach each other, grow together and support each other's success.
3. Charting a path to financial stability and sustainability for the Section.

ABA's Section of Public Contract Law is an association of attorneys and others engaged in all segments of the procurement industry. The Section serves its members and the broader procurement community by providing a forum for active engagement with perspectives across all aspects of federal, state and local public contract and grant law and offering balanced recommendations on procurement policy.

Whytsell is a government contracts attorney who helps clients assess, understand, develop and implement practical strategies to address complex issues involving government contracts, intellectual property, cybersecurity and export controls. He represents the interests of his clients through counseling, negotiation and litigation. Whytsell co-chairs Stinson's Government Contracts and Investigations practice group and is a frequent presenter and contributor to the firm's Government Contracting Matters blog.
