Overview
Jere handles a variety of business litigation matters and understands how courts are likely to view a client's position. He assists clients through disputes involving enforcement of consumer and business lending, commercial contracts, sale of real estate, lease interpretation, end of lease questions, operating expense issues, construction delays, confidentiality provisions, non-compete clauses, toxic tort, and commercial real estate.
He negotiates business and construction contracts, workouts on real estate and commercial loans and defense of lender liability actions, as well as contract and lease negotiations. Jere also draws on his experience as a chemical engineer, working as a project manager for an engineering and environmental consulting firm for eight years, representing clients both nationally and internationally. In his work as an engineer, he analyzed numerous Fortune 500 companies’ products, as well as the production and manufacturing facilities, and made recommendations for improving and modifying their operations.
A frequent speaker, Jere has given presentations at more than 35 conferences and seminars throughout his career.
Experience
Defends and pursues litigation claims in a variety of areas for banks and finance companies, including lender liability claims, workouts, and settlement negotiations, as well as representing manufacturing and industrial operators.
Negotiates contracts for real estate, leases, construction, loans, and services.
Represents shopping center and property owners in defending and enforcing lease claims, and litigating construction disputes and matters involving defective work, fraud, and misrepresentation.
Negotiates leases and pursues litigation in commercial and retail landlord-tenant disputes including all aspects of lease interpretation.
Advises condominium associations on disputes and interpreting declarations, bylaws, and statutes.
Represents bank and finance companies in lending issues.
