Sharon is experienced in working with employers on a variety of labor and employment issues.
Overview
Sharon assists in providing counsel and litigation services for a range of employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, whistleblower claims, leave and accommodations (including the Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act), military leave, and employment agreements (including separation agreements and noncompetes). She also assists in providing counsel and litigation services for claims arising under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Minnesota Human Rights Act and the Federal Railroad Safety Act.
In addition to assisting with litigating employment disputes, Sharon partners with employers to foster productive and positive workplaces. She provides counsel for employment practices, including personnel policies, complaint investigations, workplace trainings, pay disclosure and wage transparency compliance, as well as paid sick and family leave.
Prior to joining Stinson, Sharon gained valuable experience as a summer associate with the firm. She also served as a law clerk with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office where she collaborated with government agencies on their employment-related legal needs. Additionally, Sharon is proficient in Spanish, allowing her to better meet the diverse needs of her clients.
In addition to her employment law practice, Sharon maintains a pro bono practice focused on housing-related matters, including eviction defense, expungement motions and other landlord-tenant disputes.
