Allison Murdock Discusses Stinson's Support for Personnel Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic with American Lawyer
American Lawyer highlights the ways firm leadership are supporting staff and attorneys across offices and keeping all constituents connected and engaged during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Managing Partner-elect Allison Murdock touched on some of the ways Stinson is approaching the work-from-home environment, including monthly Zoom meetings with all personnel and more frequent videoconferences for divisions and offices.
"The biggest impact of the pandemic is we are leading from a distance," Allison said. "We want to answer as many questions as we can. We can’t provide all the certainty that people crave right now, but we can provide more certainty about work so they can focus on challenges outside the office."
She also discussed the importance of maintaining and growing connections between partners and newer attorneys, sharing that "we’re encouraging all our associates not to think twice about picking up the phone and calling a partner. It might feel like interrupting, especially for our more junior lawyers."
Allison's election as Stinson's next managing partner was announced in May 2020, with her term beginning in July 2021. She currently serves as Stinson's deputy managing partner, a leadership role she assumed in 2010, and she serves on the law firm's board of directors, a position she has held since 2003. As managing partner, she will continue to serve and support the nearly 500 attorneys in Stinson's 13 national locations.
